Forgiveness
When it comes to humans and their emotions, we’ve all been hurt at some time or another, maybe we were treated badly, trust was broken, hearts were hurt. And while this pain is normal, sometimes that pain lingers for too long. We relive the pain over and over and have a hard time letting go.
This causes problems. It not only causes us to be unhappy, but can strain or ruin relationships, distract us from work and family and other important things, make us reluctant to open up to new things and people. We get trapped in a cycle of anger and hurt and miss out on the beauty of life as it happens.
We need to learn to let go, because whatever feelings we hold, no one can feel them except us, so why would we carry this hurt and pain. We need to be able to forgive, so we can move on and be happy. Forgiveness does not mean you erase the past or forget what has happened. It doesn’t even mean the other person will change his behaviour and you cannot control that. All it means is that you are letting go of the anger and pain and moving on to a better place.
To move forward and be happy in life, we must release and let go of what was, and start marching forwards to the beat of our drum with a spring in our step! It’s pointless to allow old issues and problems of our past to create our future. It’s time realise that the past is history, it’s set in stone, and it can’t be changed, and the future hasn’t yet happened, so therefore the only moment that matters is NOW, right here, right now! It’s in the Magic of NOW that we can change how we think, how we feel, and how we behave, to create a wonderful future.
Hypnotherapy and the NLP tools and techniques that I use for forgiveness are like waving a magic wand, as we reframe through hypnosis a problem into an opportunity, any weaknesses into strengths, what we see as an impossibility, we turn it into a possibility, and a distant possibility into a near possibility.
Forgiving people who have hurt us can be challenging but forgiving ourselves can be just as difficult, and this is where the power of hypnosis and NLP can help, as it can help you in taking back your power over what you think, feel, and believe. It is important to remember that learning to forgive is not a one-size-fits-all process. In addition to reducing anger, stress, depression, and anxiety, forgiveness can also have positive effects on your physical health and relationships.
